Breathe
Because of Low
While it Lasts
Untitled (coming in 2012)
Marcus Hardy had hoped to enjoy a year away at college while he put the summer he’d rather forget behind him. But instead, he’s jerked right back to the coastal town of Sea Breeze, Alabama due to a family crisis. His dear ol' dad found himself a girlfriend only a few years older than Marcus. So now his sister needs help dealing with their mother who is mentally falling apart. The only bright spot to returning is the fascinating red head who sleeps over several times a week. The problem is she's sleeping in bed with his new roommate, Cage York.

Willow “Low” Foster needs a place to live. Running to Cage’s apartment every time her sister kicks her out isn’t exactly a long term solution. Juggling her courses at the local community college and a part time job doesn’t produce excess income. But Cage has a new roommate and suddenly sleeping over at her best friend’s apartment isn’t such a bad thing. Not when she gets to see those sexy green eyes of Marcus Hardy’s twinkle when he smiles at her like he wants her there.
Even though Cage seems a little territorial where Low is concerned, Marcus finds time to spend with Low without upsetting his roommate. Cage may use his small college baseball star persona to sleep with every hot female in his path but he’s still under the disillusion that when he’s through sowing his wild oats, he’s going to marry Low. Marcus intends to change that assumption for both Cage and Low. Until his carefully laid plans come crashing down with a revelation he never expected. He’ll have to choose between Low or his family. Because once the truth comes out.... there’s no other choice.

Review:

Because of Low is the second book in the Sea Breeze series, and it is even better than what I expected. Breathe was a light-hearted summer read but this book is full of emotions, and drama. The characters had so much depth in them; I was completely involved in the story.

The book featured Marcus Hardy & Willow (Low) Montgomery. I have been rooting for Marcus since the last book, and was so excited to finally read his story. First of all, can I just say wow, I had no idea Marcus was a rich boy. But that doesn't change the fact that he is still the sweetest, caring person ever. In this book, he moves back into town for some family crisis, and moves in with Cage (who is the biggest man-whore I ever read about). Marcus is a good boy, a boy every mother wants their daughter to marry. Simply, he is just perfect.

Willow aka Low was a refreshingly unique character, and I liked her a lot. She comes from the wrong side of the town, had a tough childhood, and the only thing stable in her life was her best friend, Cage. People tend to abandon her (like her bitchy sister), and therefore, she had trust issues. The relationship between Low & Cage was weird at first, but after a while I was okay with it. Marcus and Low are completely different people yet absolutely perfect for each other. They clicked from the moment Marcus saw Low standing at his door, and from thereon their connection became even stronger. The thing about Marcus that I really liked was that he understood Low so well. He knew when she needed a little time & space, and he gave it to her.

Because of Low is an emotional story with lots of family drama, and hot steamy moments. I just loved this book , and I'm really excited to see where Ms. Glines will go with Cage's story.

  1. This is the first book in the series, but you do not need to read them in order. I love Marcus Hardy, he is my favorite character in this series. He had to grow up as fast and put his needs last then he meet Low. I could not put this book down. I had to know what was happening next with this story line. You will not be disappointed, a great read.
