Synopsis (from Goodreads):
The last thing Dawson Black expected was Bethany Williams. As a Luxen, an alien life form on Earth, human girls are…well, fun. But since the Luxen have to keep their true identities a secret, falling for one would be insane.
Dangerous. Tempting. Undeniable.
Bethany can’t deny the immediate connection between her and Dawson. And even though boys aren’t a complication she wants, she can’t stay away from him. Still, whenever they lock eyes, she’s drawn in.
Captivated. Lured. Loved.
Dawson is keeping a secret that will change her existence...and put her life in jeopardy. But even he can’t stop risking everything for one human girl. Or from a fate that is as unavoidable as love itself.
Review:
Shadows is mentioned before Obsidian but really should be read afterwards or it will completely spoil the first book in this series. I just simply loved it.
This book is about Daemon’s brother Dawson and Bethany’s story. Their story was love at first sight, and I actually felt it. It was all hearts & flowers; just the sweetest romance ever. They just made me go awe at every scene. Dawson & Bethany are the couple everyone wants to see have their HEA but from Obsidian we know things go differently. I knew from the beginning how it was going to end but still reading that part was just heart-breaking. I cried for them, for their future they would never have, and I just hated it. A small part of me is still hopeful that they are not dead, and will come back in the upcoming books. No one saw their bodies. I just want Ms. Armentrout to do a miracle. They are aliens, anything can happen.
