2012 DNF Pile

December 30, 2012
I don't post my DNF review on my Blog, they are on Goodreads. I feel like if I haven't finished it, I don't get to rate it. Here is the list of Did Not Finish books of 2012.

I just realized that most of them are the ones that were loved by almost everyone but me.
Anyway, here it goes!

The Sea of Tranquility
Katja Millay

I tried. I really did. I couldn't finish it, I was waiting for the story to move forward, but I guess it was too slow for my taste.

Natsya was very very quite person, mute basically. People said that her thoughts very funny or the way she judged people was intriguing, but for me it was more boring. I wasn't interested in knowing her story, so maybe that could be the main reason I didn't like this book.

Josh, on the other hand, was my favorite character. He was a, I want to say carpenter, but that's just vague. He's in high school, and he makes beautiful wooden furniture. I loved his work, and I loved his passion towards it. But even his talents couldn't negate Natsya's character.

Most of the readers loved it, there are a bazillion 5 stars review, so don't let me stop you from reading this book. Give it a try, maybe you'll enjoy it, but it definitely was NOT a book for me.

Madeline Sheehan

It's not a bad book, it's just not something for me. The biker language and lifestyle is not something I was comfortable reading, and the age gap between the characters was a deal breaker for me, but if you can handle that stuff, definitely try this book.

Warning: This is not a typical love story. This is an all-consuming, soul-crushing, tear-your-heart-into-pieces story. It’s intense, gritty and raw, dark and disturbing, and it doesn’t happen overnight. This is an epic love story that knows no boundaries and has no time limits. It grows and develops—with hurt, sacrifice, and heartache—over the span of a lifetime.

Moon Called
Patricia Briggs

I have been looking for a werewolf book after finishing the ever disappointing Nightshade series. Moon Called being so highly rated was my first choice to read, but it turned out to be another disappointment. Why does this keep happening to me? I liked Mercedes character, her dialogues were refreshing, and very interesting. The thing that didn't work for me was the extremely S L O W pace. I still gave it a try, and was waiting impatiently for something exciting to happen, but halfway through the book I just couldn't take it anymore, therefore it goes in my DNF list.

A Lot Like Love
Julie James

A Lot Like Love was an unfortunate read, I simple couldn't connect with any character, Jordan was just too unbelievable, and unrealistic whereas Nick was okay, nothing out of the blue. The main reason I was disappointed with this one was because the first one in the series was so good, it had perfect amount of action, and a great sexual chemistry to capture the readers, but it's sequel just lacking everything I loved in the first one. Therefore, a DNF.

Uses for Boys
Erica Lorraine Scheidt

This was not a DNF, but I feel like it should have been. Everything was a mess, the story was forced, the characters were too stupid, and the writing was torturing. I bitched a lot in my Goodreads review, so if you want a rant go here.

That was all for 2012. What were some of your DNF's?
