Sparrow Fisher is transforming. No longer dressed up in antiquated clothes and ideals, she is finally trying on her freedom.

Before she moves to New York City, she meets Ian Sterling, a musician Sparrow has dreamed about since she first saw him. The attraction is instant, but their relationship isn't so simple.

Over a five year span, Sparrow and Ian run into each other in unusual places. Each time, Sparrow has to decide if she can trust him, if he feels the same for her, and finally, if love is really enough

Review:
People tend to say that you should never write a review right after you finish a book because you won't be able to judge it correctly, so I went along with that for True Love Story. When I finished the book, my feeling were meh, I couldn't care less for the characters or their "romance", but when I slept through it and woke up the next day, I freaking hated the book and what a waste of my time & money it was.

Sparrow meets Ian at a family gathering and the next thing you know, she is my love with him; it wasn't even insta-love, more like a super-fast-lightning-speed-looks-in-the-eye "love". That's not the thing that made me hate this book, not even close. What made me sick was how gorgeous, beautiful and just out of the worlds stunning Sparrow was and how everyone who even looked at her was in love with her. Puh lease. The way she was described like that constantly made me feel like I was reading about Aphrodite (who I Love). Forget her beauty, look at Sparrow's character, it's shallow & shitty. Not someone I would ever want to be related with. She loses her virginity in a drunken stupor and doesn't remember next day. Seriously?!? I really wanted to punch her.

Then there is Ian, who is suppose to be a rockstar but is more like an emo person slash hardcore Christian with the way he talks about God, faith, fate and forgiveness. One minute he is singing poetry for Sparrow's beauty, literally on every page, and the other minute he is distant for no reason. I'm sick. I'm sick. I'm sick. I'm SICK OF SPARROW AND IAN'S SHALLOW PERSONALITIES. That's how enraged this book made me feel. On top of that, Ian's been hiding something from Sparrow and when it was revealed, I was so pissed that if I had a paperback instead of my kindle, I would have burned it. Why the Fuck would you do that to the person you supposedly love? Just Why? Would I forgive Ian? Never. Love does not conquer everything and sometimes it is better for you to move on rather than be a part of an unhealthy relationship.

The name of the book is absolutely right. The love shouldn't even be in the title because there was no love in the story, it was utter craziness. It is a True Story about psycho couple. The one star is only for the chapter titles which were so cool. I loved every single one of it. Why didn't I DNFed this book? Because I gave up on The Sea of Tranquility way too soon and from now on I want to give every book atleast a halfway try. Oh, I skimmed the rest of True Love Story just to find out what Ian did. The one thing I learned from this experience is to write a review the minute I finish the book because than atleast I would have something nice to say about it rather than ranting the whole time. The rating still would have been the same. I recommend you to learn from me and save your money. Don't even look at this book. No. Look Away! Look Away!

  1. Ahaha, I totally love your review :-)
But I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy the book .. It sounds like people either really loved this book or really hated it. I haven't read it yet myself but let's just say that I'm not in a hurry to do so right now ;-)

    1. That's why I picked this book up because every blogger I follow who have read this book, loved it. But oh well, this is just not a good week in books for me.

  2. People say that? well I write almost all my reviews right away, and even if I only post them months later I find they're exactly the way I still feel--well except I remember less stuff haha. But I'm not one to dwell on stuff too though. This book sounds like a downer! One big pet peeve of mine is perfect characters! GAH! Those who everyone s falling for, and most of the time they themselves think they're nothing special *eyeroll* I don't think this one would be for me either based on your thoughts on it. Hopefully your next read will be better >.<

    1. That's what I do too, otherwise I won't remember anything. lol. Too perfect characters are pretty unrelable and too much at times. It's better to skip it.

  3. Damn Aman! Just one star! But at least it's fine that the Love in the title has a strike through. If I hadn't seen your review, I swear I would've been attracted to this book title. ;) God, I hate that the rockstar Ian was portrayed as emo. It's sad you didn't like the book and I'm thinking I'll stay away from it! Nonetheless, great review as always.

Oh, and I DO write my reviews immediately after reading! Whereas Janhvi... I literally have to push to sit down and write hers! :P

    1. I know! The only other book I've ever given 1 star was Thoughtless and that was so much better than this one, atleast I loved Kellan, here there was nothing to love. This book makes me want to up a rating for Thoughtless. Yes, it's better to stay away.

I'm like you, if you don't write it the minute the finish it, I would never get around doing it later.
      Thanks!

  4. Aww I can't believe you hated it so much! I LOVED this book! But I can see why certain things pissed you off because at times I would get really pissed at the characters too. What Ian did pissed me off like crazy and I didn't want her to forgive him either for a really long time.

    1. I can't believe it either. I picked it up because you loved it and we have similar taste but alas this book just wasn't meant to be in out favorite category.
PS: I still trust your opinion and I will read any other of your recommendations.
PPS: I really hate Ian. If it was just C instead of an A, I would have forgiven him, but an A is not done when you are in love with someone else.
