Annie hates running. No matter how far she jogs, she can’t escape the guilt that if she hadn’t broken up with Kyle, he might still be alive. So to honor his memory, she starts preparing for the marathon he intended to race.

But the training is even more grueling than Annie could have imagined. Despite her coaching, she’s at war with her body, her mind—and her heart. With every mile that athletic Jeremiah cheers her on, she grows more conflicted. She wants to run into his arms…and sprint in the opposite direction. For Annie, opening up to love again may be even more of a challenge than crossing the finish line.

"Breathe, Annie, Breathe is an emotional, heartfelt, and beautiful story about finding yourself after loss and learning to love. It gave me so many feels. Her best book yet." — Jennifer Armentrout, New York Times bestselling author of Wait for You

Breathe, Annie, Breathe is the most motivational and encouraging book I've read this year! Like Annie, I'm in a process of trying to learn to run long distance just to have a more healthy lifestyle, though hers was a more serious and emotionally connected goal. Either ways, from the get go, her journey felt so parallel to mine and it was awesome seeing some go through the same runners issues and having the same reactions, though I wish I'm half as strong as Annie because I can't imagine myself pushing this hard when emotionally I'm simply a wreck. Kudos to you, girl!

Annie wants to run the Country Music Marathon (26 miles) in honor of her late boyfriend who was a runner and died tragically during the time he was preparing for the marathon. Now a year later, Annie wants to run in his place, but there's a tiny issues between her goal: Annie is not a runner. Therefore she joins Matt's training classes to prepare for the big event and we follow this particular journey in this book. Annie is one of the strongest, most determined and relatable character I've read in a YA, her story is sad because not only did she lost her boyfriend, she lost her best friend as well and that's just heartbreaking. But I loved that she bounced back from the trauma and focused on running. Annie is such a fucking awesome character! I was so happy for her when she befriended Jeremiah and had someone constant in her life after Kyle. The romance was one of the cutest, in fact I couldn't even think of a couple more perfect and adorable that them. These two deserve each other and I'm sure you'll agree with me after reading their story which hint hint YOU MUST!

Breathe, Annie, Breathe is mostly a book about fulfilling someone's dream, appreciating a special relationship and trying to start over in the best way possible. For Annie, finishing the marathon wasn't only for Kyle, even though it started as that, but along the way, running became a part of her life, something she enjoyed, something that gave her peace and serenity, and something that made her feel again. And ofcourse, something that introduced her to Jeremiah and brought some love back in her life. Breathe, Annie, Breathe is undoubtedly Kenneally best work so far and I know I'm being biased because I've only read one other book by the author, but I know when something is a winner and this was much more than that!

  1. Yay for such a motivational read! I can't wait to rad this one. And I'm glad you enjoyed the romance. Mel [YA Midnight Reads] didn't seem to like Jeremiah that much, but I'm glad you enjoyed his time with annie :) Best work so far? Cannot freakin' wait! Great review, Aman!

  2. Wow 26 miles! I could never do it lol. I love how this series takes sports which I usually have no interest in and makes it so compelling and really makes you understand what drives these people. I have read and enjoyed all books in this series and this one sounds like it could be my next fav read of the year! I'll get the tissues ready! >.<

  3. Oh wow I can't believe Breathe Annie Breathe was a 5 star read for you. I have only read Catching Jordan by this author and I had liked it. But not enough to continue with the series. I'll have to think about reading this one though. Thanks for sharing Aman! :)
