Hailed as a major new talent in paranormal romance, Nalini Singh takes us deeper into the world of the Psy and the changelings in her latest extraordinary novel, where a gifted woman sees passion in her future - a passion that is absolutely forbidden by her kind...

Used to cold silence, Faith NightStar is suddenly being tormented by dark visions of blood and murder. A bad sign for anyone, but worse for Faith, an F-Psy with the highly sought after ability to predict the future. Then the visions show her something even more dangerous - aching need...exquisite pleasure. But so powerful is her sight, so fragile the state of her mind, that the very emotions she yearns to embrace could be the end of her.

Changeling Vaughn D'Angelo can take the form of either man or jaguar, but it is his animal side that is overwhelmingly drawn to Faith. The jaguar's instinct is to claim this woman it finds so utterly fascinating and the man has no argument. But while Vaughn craves sensation and hungers to pleasure Faith in every way, desire is a danger that could snap the last threads of her sanity. And there are Psy who need Faith's sight for their own purposes. They must keep her silenced - and keep her from Vaughn.

Will it be weird if I reviewed this series for the rest of the month? Nalini Singh has made me so addicted to her work that I don't want to read any other book until I'm done with this series! The world is so captivating and draws you in from the first look, it's scary and downright terrifying if we think about the Psy's lifestyle, but it's also very beautiful and wholly for the changelings. I love the family dynamic these wolves and panthers and jaguars have and wish I could be a part of this close knit group, though I would much prefer to be "mated" with Hawke, the Alpha Wolf, because HOT DAMN! That man is a blush machine, I can't even process anything when he's around, which was only once in this book (NOT FAIR!) and that was only through a phone conversation (so mean!). On another note, I fled through this book and finished it in less than a day and what's even more exciting, I picked up the next book in the series, Caressed by Ice the same night. That says a lot! I might as well end my review here.

But I won't because I need to fangirl more! Visions of Heat opens up with a little information about a new type of Psy's, F-Psy aka Foreseers. Our heroine Faith is one of the top players in the business, so much so that the Council wants her in Enrique's place. F-Psy have a very vulnerable mind, they have the highest rated of mental instability and are usually housed in a secluded location away from all the other Psy. Faith lives in a building right next to the DarkRiver territory and that provides her a mean to meet with our very sexy and tease expert jaguar, Vaughn!!! I actually liked Vaughn's story a lot better than Lucas' and I think that has to do with the first book being more focused on the complex world compared to this one where I can just enjoy my characters and not worry about every little detail. From the beginning, I was so thrilled to be part of this world again and to meet all my favorite pack member and not forget those little cute twin that I want to cuddle with. Visions of Heat was an all rounder for a PNR book, impressive world building, great backstory, constant feel of fear and getting caught (in Faith's case which I loved!), tension filled romance and ofcourse some sexy initimate scenes (must have them!) and overall an exceptionally well written book! The only criticism I have is the lack of a glossary for every Psy/Changeling related words because there were some scenes in the end where I had no idea what something meant and it made me crazy because I love this book and want to give it 5 well deserving stars. Oh well, I'll just google it, I'm sure a fan must have made one.

Final Thoughts: I'm so grateful to Janhvi for introducing me to this series, it is definitely my favorite of this year and top 10 favorite of all time. Nalini Singh is a fantastic writer, storyteller and creator of these beautiful fictional worlds and I'm proud to be a fan of hers. Out of the 8 books I've read so far, I can clearly pinpoint what happened in each book because not only her books are addictive, they are also very memorable and forever stay with you. Visions of Heat was a hit in every possible manner and I don't doubt that in a week (or whenever I post my review) I would be repeating these same words for Caressed by Ice. Please read something from this author if you haven't already!

Sidenote: I love the old covers, the half-faced new ones are so overused, like this:

  1. It will totally not be weird if you review this series for the whole month! I am SO happy that you're enjoying this series Aman :D trust me, the books only get better from here on. I really liked Faith and Vaughn's story and yes, HAWKE is the one for me too <3 He is so swoon worthy! Nalini Singh is an awesome author! great review! :)

  2. Haha, no! Wouldn't be weird :D This sounds so cool, but I have other UF/PNR books I really want to read so I don't think adding this one to my huge tbr pile would be really fair to the amazing review and these awesome books. But I am so glad you enjoyed! I haven't read a book about jaguars so it'd be awesome to see some kitty cats instead of only wolds ;) Yay for a sexy read :)

  3. Well when you said you could review this series for the rest of the month I already knew that it has so many sequels. But that many! Damn. I mean I love the sound of it and I'm sure I'd enjoy it too but I cannot make myself read a series if it has more than 3 books. Somehow I always put it aside. But you go ahead and enjoy. I'm so glad you're enjoying this series already. Great review, Aman :)

  4. I have read only raving, five stars reviews for this series, and I really want to read it too, but it has so many sequels... :| I will someday, promise. I'm glad that you enjoyed it this much. Great review, Aman!
